A stay at Apricus comes with something most rentals can't offer: people who genuinely want to make it yours.
Many guests are welcomed in person by Eduardo's parents, who meet you at the house, show you around, and leave you with coffee, chocolate, and fresh fruit to settle in after the journey. It's a small thing that sets the tone for everything—warm, personal, and unhurried.
The heart of it is Eduardo Sr., a lifelong Monteverde guide. Step out into the cloud forest with him after dark, and the place comes alive: sloths overhead, toucans settling in for the night, tree frogs, and—if you're lucky—the famous eyelash pit viper. Guests routinely call it the highlight of their entire trip. As one put it, it's an evening of "laughing and learning all through the jungle."
Beyond the night walk, the family is always glad to help you plan your days—guided hikes, coffee tours, hanging bridges, zip-lining, or simply the best spot to watch the sunset. Just ask.

Apricus comfortably sleeps up to 4 guests with one king-size bedroom and a queen-size sofa bed in the living area. It's perfect for couples, small families, or two-couple getaways.
What is the minimum stay?

How do I get to Apricus from the airport?
Apricus is approximately a 3-hour drive from Liberia International Airport (LIR) and 3.5 hours from San José (SJO). We recommend a 4WD vehicle for the final approach into Monteverde. We can help arrange private transfers — just ask.
Is the road to the home accessible?
Yes. Monteverde's main roads have improved significantly in recent years. A standard SUV is comfortable for most of the journey, though 4WD is recommended in the rainy season (May–November).
What's included in the stay?

What's the best time of year to visit Monteverde?
Monteverde is beautiful year-round. The dry season (December–April) offers clear skies and the best wildlife viewing, while the green season (May–November) brings lush landscapes, fewer crowds, and dramatic mist over the cloud forest.
Is the home pet-friendly?
We do not allow pets at Apricus to preserve the home's pristine condition for all guests. Thank you for understanding.
What is your cancellation policy?
We understand plans can change. Cancel 16 or more days before your check-in date for a full refund, or 8 to 15 days before for a 50% refund. Cancellations within 7 days of check-in are non-refundable. The complete policy is also shown in the booking widget at checkout.
